What Makes a Destination Stay With You

There are places you visit and enjoy, and then there are places that stay with you. The difference is not always the most famous landmark or the most photographed view. Often, it is the feeling of being there.

It might be the golden light on an old street, a meal you still think about, a conversation with a local guide, a quiet beach morning, or the way a city slowly reveals itself when you stop rushing.

That is what I love most about travel. It gives us moments we could never fully plan, even when the details are carefully arranged. A good itinerary helps create the space for those moments to happen.

When I photograph and write about travel, I am always looking for that feeling — the small details, colors, textures, and memories that turn a destination into a story.

Because in the end, we do not just remember where we went. We remember how it felt to be there.
